Paper submissions
Paper submissions are welcome; if accepted, they will have to be presented orally and in person during the Conference.
Thematic lines
The submitted papers must be in line with one of the proposed four thematic lines:
Children
Lived experiences and needs of trans children and their transition processes, self-esteem, wellbeing, celebrating their bodies…
Youth
Experiences and needs of trans youth and their transition processes, with special focus on the experiencing of bodies, pleasure, sexualities, erotica, love…
Care and support
Care and support of trans children and youth and their families from any professional field: health, education, social work… and by entities and associations.
Society and culture
Social environment, beliefs, prejudices, discriminations, violence, values, support networks, role models, activism, legislation, mass media, social media…
Paper abstract
You should submit a paper abstract of between 400 and 1000 words.
The papers can include:
- Scientific research studies
- In this case, they should be structed as follows: Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusions. The sections may be adapted if necessary and according to the type of study.
- Personal and/or professional experiences
- In this case, a free structure describing the experiences in detail is allowed.
Bibliographic references in APA7 format can be added in both cases. These will not be included in the minimum and maximum word count.
The abstracts can be sent in Spanish or in English.
The abstract will be in Word format and must not include any details about its authorship.
We will shortly be making available a template in Word format to be used for the paper abstract.
Submitting abstracts.
The abstract must be submitted before 7 February 2025 using the following form. SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 14, 2025.
The following fields of the form must be completed:
• Thematic line to which the paper is submitted
• Title of the paper
• Names and surname(s) of the authors
• Contact’s personal details.
And a Word file must be attached, as per the template given, with the paper abstract, which must not contain any details about its authorship.
Assessment and acceptance of papers
The Evaluation Committee will anonymously assess the papers according to:
- Formal criteria: word count; linguistic correction; following the template; references, if applicable, in APA7 format; etc.
- Criteria of relevance, suitability, value of the contribution, quality, etc.
The decision of the Evaluation Committee regarding whether or not to accept the papers will be notified before 21 March 2025.
Registering for the Conference is not necessary before knowing the decision. If the decision is favourable, final acceptance of the paper will require at least one of the authors of the paper to be registered for the Conference so the paper can be given in person during the event.
Presentation of the papers
The accepted papers will be presented orally and in person during the Papers Session at the Conference. The presentation will last 10 minutes followed be a discussion with 5 minutes allocated.
The presentation will be given in the same language as the abstract was submitted. The Conference language will be Spanish and English; there will be simultaneously interpreting service between both languages throughout the Conference.
Accreditations and publication of the accepted papers.
The signatories of the paper will be accredited as having participated as presenting a PAPER after the conference.
The presented papers will be included in a digital compendium that will be published as the Conference Proceedings, with the relevant ISBN and Legal Deposit assigned; they will be indexed in Dialnet for optimum dissemination.
Any text developed from the work presented in the abstracts may be subsequently published, without any restriction, in scientific journals or other media.
